art in the real world
September 12, 2008 | Category: a day in the life, art, pics, the littlest moment

I just started playing with some rough color studies for a commission. I painted these on paper and discovered that (of course!) my paint behaves differently on paper than on canvas.

It was fascinating using my typical techniques and ending up with completely different result.  The paper naturally started pushing me towards something new. My application and technique began to shift and I was starting to get excited about the possibilities. I was midway through my experiment… waiting for a layer to dry when Amira hit.

I really need to get her paints and an easel of her own…Â
